With a total value of $60,000, this scholarship aims to provide financial support to high-achieving undergraduate and postgraduate students who wish to pursue their education in Australia.
To be considered for the University of Western Australia scholarships, you must meet the following criteria:
1. Citizenship: You must be a citizen of one of the selected countries from all continents, as specified by the University.
2. Offer of Admission: You must have received an offer for an undergraduate or postgraduate course at The University of Western Australia. This means that you must have already gone through the application process and received an acceptance letter from the University.
3. Academic Performance: Your academic performance will be a key factor in determining your eligibility for the scholarship. You must have achieved an equivalent Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) of 88.00 – 98.00+ or a UWA weighted average mark (WAM) of 70.00 – 85.00+ for undergraduate students. For postgraduate students, the WAM equivalent must be more than 75.00 if you are studying an approved International Academic Pathway (Articulation Program).
4. Course Eligibility: The scholarship is available for eligible undergraduate or postgraduate degrees or Assured Pathway courses, excluding courses in Medicine and Pharmacy.
The scholarship offers different amounts based on the duration of the course:
1. Undergraduate Students: On eligible courses, undergraduate students can receive scholarships of up to AUD$48,000 over 4 years or AUD$36,000 over 3 years. However, for the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce, and Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Science, which are 5 years courses, eligible students can receive up to $60,000* over 5 years based on yearly eligible amounts determined by WAM.
2. Postgraduate Students: Postgraduate students can receive up to AUD$24,000 over two years on eligible courses.
It's important to note that the scholarship will be automatically awarded to those who meet the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR)/Weighted Average Mark (WAM) requirements.
To apply for the University of Western Australia scholarships, you need to first apply and receive an offer for an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate course at the University. Once you have received the offer, you will be automatically considered for the scholarship based on your academic performance. There is no separate application process for the scholarship.
The scholarship will be awarded as a tuition fee discount for the normal full-time duration of your course, as specified in your offer letter. The value of the scholarship will be determined based on your equivalent ATAR or WAM.
