2023 Orange Knowledge Programme (OKP) For International Students

The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs is offering the Orange Knowledge Programme (OKP) for 2023, which is a scholarship program for professionals from African countries who are interested in pursuing a postgraduate degree or attending short courses in the Netherlands. The scholarship aims to improve the capacity and quality of individuals and organizations in higher and vocational education, as well as in other fields related to the program's priority themes. The scholarship will cover tuition fees, accommodation, and provide a stipend to successful applicants.

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be nationals of and working in one of the countries listed in the program. They should be proficient in English or French, motivated, and working in one of the program's priority areas for their country. Additionally, they should be able to demonstrate how they will use their newly gained knowledge and experience in their organization after their studies. Applicants for master's programs from Indonesia should apply through the OKP-LPDP joint program.

The program's priority themes include sexual and reproductive health and rights, security and rule of law, food and nutrition security, and water management. Applicants should apply for courses that fall within the focus area of their country of employment.

There are two application rounds for 2023, with deadlines on March 30, 2022, and September 5, 2023, respectively. Interested applicants must apply directly to a Dutch higher education institution that offers an OKP qualified course. The institution will provide information on application and selection procedures, as well as eligibility criteria.

Before applying, applicants should review the eligibility criteria carefully and confirm that their employer is willing to nominate them for the scholarship. They will also need to provide an employer statement and, in some cases, a government statement to certify the support of their government for their OKP application.

Overall, the Orange Knowledge Programme provides an excellent opportunity for professionals from African countries to enhance their knowledge and skills in priority areas while studying in the Netherlands. For more information on how to apply for the scholarship, interested applicants can visit the official website.
