It is essential to check the participating country profiles before applying for the scholarship. Australia Awards are not available for training in areas related to flying aircraft, nuclear technology or military training.

The currency in Australia is the Australian dollar (AUD). The current exchange rate is approximately 1 AUD to 0.74 USD, 0.55 EUR, or 0.48 GBP.
The cost of living in Australia varies depending on the location and lifestyle of the individual. On average, an international student will require approximately AUD 21,041 per year to cover living expenses. This includes accommodation, food, transport, and other miscellaneous expenses.

The scholarship benefits generally include full tuition fees, return air travel, establishment allowance, contribution to living expenses, Overseas Student Health Cover, Introductory Academic Program, Pre-course English fees, and more. The scholarships are offered for the minimum period necessary for the individual to complete the academic program specified by the Australian higher education institution, including any preparatory training.

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be a minimum of 18 years of age on February 1, 2023. They must be citizens of a participating country and be residing in and applying for the scholarship from their country of citizenship. Applicants must not be citizens or permanent residents of Australia, hold permanent residency in Australia, or be applying for a visa to live in Australia permanently. They must not be married to, engaged to, or a de facto of a person who holds or is eligible to hold Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency at any time during the application, selection, or mobilization phases. Applicants must also satisfy all requirements of the Department of Home Affairs to hold a Student Visa and be able to satisfy the admission requirements of the institution at which the award is to be undertaken.
