The University of Twente in the Netherlands is offering the University Twente Scholarship (UTS) for excellent students from non-EU/EEA countries who are applying for a Master's programme (MSc) at the university. The scholarship is valued between € 3,000 – € 22,000 for one year, and if the study programme is two years long, students may receive an additional UTS to cover expenses during the second year, provided they meet the process requirements for the scholarship.
In order to be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must have obtained an average grade of 7 (out of 10) at the end of the third quartile of the first year, and at least 50% of European Credits at the end of the third quartile of the first year. Additionally, applicants must meet the following requirements:

- Have a student number.
- Have not graduated from a UT (under)graduate programme.
- Comply with the conditions for obtaining an entry visa in the Netherlands (if applicable).
- Comply with the general English language test requirement, Academic IELTS 6.5 (or TOEFL iBT of 90) and an additional 6.0 (TOEFL iBT 20) on the subscore of speaking skills.
- Not be eligible for a Dutch study loan.
- Belong to the best 5 to 10 percent of your class.
The UTS is available for approximately 50 scholarships for one year. Applicants must apply using the link provided on the university's website. Qualifying Master's programmes offered at the University of Twente include Applied Mathematics, Business Administration, Chemical Engineering, Environmental and Energy Management, Psychology, and Sustainable Energy Technology, among others.
The application process for the UTS is divided into two rounds. The application form for round 1 opens on October 15, 2022, and closes on February 1, 2023, at 16:00 CET. The application form for round 2 opens on February 1, 2023, and closes on May 1, 2023, at 16:00 CET. If an applicant applied in round 1 and their application was rejected, they cannot apply again in round 2. Only one UT scholarship is awarded per applicant.
It is important to note that the UTS is intended as a compensation for study-related costs, and the scholarship recipients may choose how to use the funds. No costs, such as tuition fees, will be paid on their behalf. Additionally, applicants should review the estimated costs of living at the University of Twente (excluding tuition fees).
The University Twente Scholarship is an excellent opportunity for international students seeking to pursue a Master's programme at the University of Twente.
